For 10 days from Tuesday, Student Police Cadets from 11 schools in the city will hand over cards bearing road safety rules to pedestrians and motorists.

This is part of ‘Subhayathra,' a State-level road safety awareness programme aimed at checking the skyrocketing number of accidents on Kerala's roads.

Motorists will have to read the pledge printed on the cards and countersign them.

The students will go around the city in police vehicles and distribute the cards, said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kochi City, T. Gopalakrishna Pillai here on Monday.
