Technopark has decided to restrict videography in and around the campus in the wake of a complaint submitted by a group of employees on the misuse of landmarks of the campus in a television programme.

According to the complaint submitted to the management, the programme which supposedly portrays the lives of IT professionals inside Technopark, pictures them as socially immoral and irresponsible citizens.

“They are using landmarks and symbols of Technopark, apparently saying to common people that they are telecasting the real life of IT professionals inside the campus. The television programme has affected the women force working in Technopark who are now typecast in an unacceptable way. IT is just another profession and not a way of life”, said an employee from the park.

Speaking to The Hindu , Senior Manager (Business Development) at the IT park, M.Vasudevan confirmed the development and said that the management had decided to set restrictions for videography/film shooting on the premises.

“We have decided not to allow further videography inside the campus without proper verification and written approval on the terms and conditions. The crew of the television programme has agreed to remove some of the images and the programme will not be telecast during prime time,” Mr. Vasudevan said.
