Tripunithura Rajanagari Union of Residents’ Associations (TRURA) and TRURA Vanithavedi have decided to intensify their protest seeking halt for Parasuram Express, Island Express and K.K. Express trains at Tripunithura Railway Station. As part of the stir they have decided to campaign against the railway’s decision not to include Tripunithura railway station in the scheduled stops for express trains in the revised railway time table. TRURA pointed out in a release that Union Minister K.V. Thomas had said at the time of inauguration of AL Jacob over bridge that in the new railway timetable Tripunithura railway station will be included in the list of halts for express trains.

Edappally has become a major commuting point as many offices and Amrita Hospital are near by and a large number of people depend on Edappally Railway station. Train No: 16041 Chennai-Alappuzha Express has a stop at Edappally. This is very convenient for the morning commuters and people coming to Amrita hospital. However in the return journey, 16042 Alappuzha-Chennai Express doesn’t stop at Edappally. It is only reasonable that this train should stop at Edappally in its return journey.
