A routine police check into a missing C-Form, mandatory to be filed by foreigners staying in the country, has blown the lid off a sex racket operating in the city.

A 19-year-old girl, reported to be from Bangladesh, was held captive for sex trade at a house at Kadungallur near Aluva.

Two persons – Shebin, 25, of Peerumedu and Rajani, 27, of Thiruvananthapuram – who ran the racket and Jijo, 32, one of their clients were arrested from the spot on Thursday.

All three were produced before the Paravur Judicial First Class Magistrate and remanded on Friday. Investigations showed that that girl crossed the Indo-Bangladesh border illegally and worked as a bar dancer in Kolkata. Guruvayoor-based Sunil ‘bought’ her from Kolkata, and handed her over to Shebin for Rs. 30,000. Shebin has several cases of immoral activities pending against him and has been abusing the girl for the last one week, police sources said. Further investigation showed that Shebin had set up a portal offering his services and given his phone number there.

Those contacting him would be sent e-mails containing the girl’s photograph and a deal would be finalised later. The police have begun probing the network of sex trade.
