: Scientists at the Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI) will conduct a workshop at the institute on May 31 to showcase a new technique to pluck coconuts using a remote-controlled gadget.

A release said coconuts could be plucked within 40 seconds using the remote-controlled gadget.

The working of the machinery will be demonstrated by Prakashan Thattari, a native of Kozhikode, at the workshop. Rocket Sprayer, used for applying pesticide on coconut and areca nut trees, would be on display. Simon George from Kannur district would demonstrate the techniques involved in operating the machinery.
