Fort Kochi revives its connection with Bob Marley, for the third consecutive year. For many in the city, the Caribbean singer is an icon – that of music and resistance.

Poet K. Sachidanandan will inaugurate the two-day Bob Marley commemoration programme at Fort Kochi on Saturday morning.

“Bob Marley continues to be the icon for all those who resist suppression, across the world. And his relevance is felt like never before, especially in the present day political scene. This commemorative meeting is part of aligning the cultural movements in the State with international efforts,” said Jaison C. Cooper, convenor of the programme.
