: The Adivasi Gothrajana Sabha (AGS) will observe a relay ‘satyagraha’ on February 13 at the Aralam farm and the office of the Tribal Resettlement Development Mission raising a slew of demands, including setting aside of jobs under the Aralam Farming Corporation and Adivasi Rehabilitation Mission for the tribals.

The Sabha also sought title deeds for occupied land. It said Aralam Farm should be notified as an Adivasi panchayat. Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, Shriraman Koyyon, president, Adivasi Dalit Munnetta Samiti (ADMS), alleged that the notification for recruitment to senior official posts under the Aralam Farming Corporation gave priority to the general category.

Mr. Koyyon said.a housing project, which had commenced two years back at the farm, was yet to be completed. Even a drinking water supply project had not been implemented. He criticised the alleged laxity on the part of the previous Left Democratic Front government in carrying out measures for the welfare of tribespeople. The tenth anniversary observance and memorial meet of the Muthanga land struggle will be held at Kannur Town Bank auditorium on February 19.
