Two movies of legendary film-maker Satyajit Ray will be screened by the District Information Office at the Press Club Hall here on February 22 and 23 in connection with the 150th anniversary celebrations of poet Rabindranath Tagore.

The films ‘Charulata’ and ‘Teen Kanya’ are based on the stories of Tagore.

District Collector K.V. Mohan Kumar will speak on the life of Tagore on the occasion.

‘Charulata,’ which won the golden medal for the best film at the national level in 1965, will be screened on February 22. The film’s director also won the Silver Bear award at the 15th Berlin International Film Festival.

‘Charulata’ was adapted from Nastanirh, a short story of Tagore.

The film won the silver medal at the international film festival held in 1961, a press release here on Monday said.
