Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi on Saturday alleged that the LDF had failed in implementing major Central schemes for the poor.
Addressing a meeting at Nandikkara for UDF's election campaign, he said the LDF, which projected itself as pro-poor, did not understand the spirit of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
“It also did not care to implement properly Central educational schemes,” he said.
He alleged breakdown of law and order in the State.
He alleged that CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat had shamelessly met BJP and BSP leaders when the Left withdrew support to the UPA government.
Mr. Ravi also took part in meetings at Eriyad, Kattur, Parappukkara, Kanjani Chavakkad, Velur, Athani, Guruvayur and Mullurkkara.
