A team of Civil Supplies Department officials, led by taluk supply officer K.N. Ajithkumar, in a raid seized nine quintals of ration rice kept in a shop without licence at Olavakkode here on Tuesday.

Mr. Ajithkumar said that the rice was part of the ration supply smuggled from the neighbouring Tamil Nadu and sold in the district.

In another raid, 200 litres of unaccounted kerosene oil was seized from Pudupariyaram near the town.

Six domestic LPG cylinders that were meant to be used for commercial purpose were also seized from the same premises, said the taluk supply officer. — Staff Reporter
