PALAKKAD: A district-level Rapid Action Force was formed to tackle monsoon-related diseases here on Friday. District Medical Officer (DMO) P.R. Karunakaran has said that the force was formed to co-ordinate work on monsoon related diseases. The DMO said that 123 doctors were appointed in the district public health centres to handle the situation. Nineteen Junior Health Inspectors were also appointed in Block Primary Health Centres. In the district and taluk hospitals special wards were also set up for monsoon related diseases. A control room was also opened at the District Medical Office here, Dr. Karunakaran said.
