KOCHI: A rally of street children, organisations working for the rehabilitation of street children and orphanages will be held in the city on August 14 highlighting the need for protecting the children.

Cine actor Mammootty will flag off the rally at St. Teresa's College premises at 10 a.m. He will also inaugurate the public meeting, which will begin at the Fine Arts Hall. S. Sarma, Fisheries Minister, will be the chief guest, said Jose Maveli, president of the Street India Movement. K. Sreedevi, former judge of Kerala High Court, will preside. P.K. Shamsudeen, former judge of Kerala High Court, will deliver the keynote address.

Mayor Mercy Williams, M.V. Paily, M.K. Sanoo, Leela Menon and filmmaker Kamal will attend.
