The Railway User’s Forum has alleged that a one-kilometre stretch of the second railway line between Karakkad and Shoranur is not being ‘connected’ as part of the ongoing expansion due to the authorities’ neglect towards Malabar.

In a press release here on Tuesday, the forum said Railway authorities were delaying the work citing the possible disruption in daily services. This had to be solved and the electrification in the Malabar region should also be finished as soon as possible, the release said.

The forum said many railway stations in the region either had no roof or was only partially covered, causing hardships to commuters.
