The annual cultural festival of National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C), ‘Ragam-2012,' will begin on the NIT-C campus at Chathamangalam in the district on Wednesday. Film director Renjith will open the four-day fete at Aryabhatta Hall of the NIT-C at 5.30 p.m., according to the organisers.
Over 500 students will participate in the event, which will have an array of cultural programmes, competitions, and seminars.
Motorbike stunt show
One of the key attractions of Ragam this time will be a motorbike stunt show by Stunt Mania. “It is the first time that the most daring and exciting stuntmen in India are coming for a show on a Kerala campus,” said Sarath R. Menon, cultural coordinator of the event.
Guns 'N Roses, hailed as the best tribute band in Europe, will also perform on the campus as part of the event on March 10, he said.
Competitions on a host of events including fashion show, western orchestra and eastern orchestra will also be organised.
An online photography contest — ‘860 degrees' — will also be held as part of the event. Log on to www.ragam.org.in for details.
