Thiruvananthapuram: The R. Sankar birth centenary celebration committee proposes to organise yearlong celebrations to mark the birth centenary of the former Chief Minister and Congress leader. A meeting being organised by it in the Senate Hall in connection with it will be inaugurated by Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan on Wednesday evening. SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan will preside. Union Minister for Overseas India Affairs Vayalar Ravi will inaugurated the celebrations. Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy will speak.
