THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Health Minister P. K. Sreemathy has denied reports that the Government has imposed curbs on grant of health care assistance from the Society for Medical Assistance for the Poor.

Opposing an adjournment motion on the subject in the Assembly on Monday, Ms. Sreemathy said the Government had not decided not to grant the assistance to those aged above 50 years as alleged by the Opposition. The Minister said the governing council of the society had not met during the time of the United Democratic Front Government.
