Muneer to open project
The district administration is launching ‘QUICK’ (Quality Improvement and Care-Kozhikode), a novel project to enable speedy disposal of files and to ensure better service to the public in government offices.
QUICK will be inaugurated by Minister for Panchayats and Social Welfare M.K. Muneer at the Collectorate conference hall at 2 p.m. on Saturday. M.K. Raghavan, MP, will inaugurate a help desk which is being set up at the Collectorate as part of the project.
The help desk will direct the visitors to various sections, depending on the service they need. The visitors can also get SMS updates regarding their respective files. New seating arrangements, water heaters, and drinking water outlets will be set up at the Collectorate for the visitors. Special care will be given to the elderly and persons with special needs.
The project is being implemented at the Kozhikode Collectorate on an experimental basis and it will later be extended to taluk and village offices. The staff will have special workshops on the third Saturday of every month. They will also be trained to improve their productivity.
A cell will be formed for systematic monitoring of the project on a day-to-day basis, with Assistant Collector Peer Muhammed Ali as its nodal officer.
