KOCHI: A protest dharna was held in front of the headquarters of Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation, calling for withdrawal of excess tax being levied for cooking gas.

The dharna, organised by Clarion, was inaugurated by Beena Sebastian. Chairman of Clarion Fr. Roby Kannanchira presided and M.K. Haridas, president of Kerala Cooking Gas Consumer's Forum, delivered the keynote address.

Speakers at the meeting said that consumers should get the benefit of Value Added Tax under which the tax on cooking gas was reduced.
