KOLLAM: Residents of Munroethuruthu organised a dharna at the Kollam Railway station on Friday to register protest against the withdrawal of the Malabar Express halt at Munroethuruthu Railway Station from April 7. Inaugurating the dharna, president of Munroethuruthu grama panchayat K.K. Brahmanandan warned that if the halt is not retained, the people of Munroethuruthu will resort to blocking trains in protest. The dharna was presided over by convener of the action council Siva Prasad. President of the Railway Passengers Association S. Ulhas Kumar, State secretary of the Youth Congress S. Shoba and action council leaders R. Ashokan and I. Jaya addressed the dharna. –Staff Reporter
