KOZHIKODE: A full-fledged preventive health programme will be launched in the district with the support of the Union Treatment Department and the Ayurveda Medical Association of India to combat monsoon-related infectious diseases.

The details of the programme were chalked out at a meeting held at the District Collectorate here on Saturday. P. K. Venugopal, District Medical Officer, presided over the meeting.

The first of the district-level medical camps in this regard would be inaugurated at the Changortahu grama panchayat office on July 5.

Assistance

Round-the-clock clinics would be opened at Kozhikode District Ayurveda Hospital, Payyoli Taluk Ayurveda Hospital, besides the Nochad, Cheruvannur, Thalayad, Balussery and Vadakara hospitals to deal with monsoon-related diseases. Special out-patient facility would be available on Wednesdays for patients suffering from infectious diseases at the ayurveda dispensaries.
