The Hindu Aikyavedi has demanded an inquiry into the alleged campaign on the Internet for ‘Love Jihad' wherein girls from other religious backgrounds are lured into marriage and converted to Islam. Aikyavedi State secretary R.V. Babu alleged here on Thursday that the campaign had been initiated under the banner of the Popular Front of India. Mr. Babu alleged that Muslim youths had been offered up to Rs.7 lakh for converting girls from other religions to Islam.

Pointing out that posters inviting Muslim youths to join the campaign included the addresses of the centres of the Popular Front of India in Bangalore, Chennai and Kozhikode, Mr. Babu said that e-mail addresses and phone numbers of people to be contacted were also given on the Net.
