The Thrissur Vigilance Court ordered an investigation into the alleged financial irregularities at the Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University for Art and Culture, Cheruthuruthy.

On a petition filed by Sujoby Jose, coordinator of the Kerala Manushyavakasha Samithy, the court asked the Vigilance Director to submit a report, after an investigation, within three months.

The petition has been filed against the Chairmen, Vice-chancellors and secretaries of Kalamandalam from 1999 to 2012.

Kalamandalam Vice-Chancellor P.N. Suresh, Registrar K.N. Suresh, former secretaries N. Radhakrishnan Nair, Kalpatta Balakrishnan, Balachandran Vadakkedath, N.R. Grama Prakash, former Vice-Chancellors K.G. Paulose, J. Prasad, former chairmen V.R. Prabhodana Chandran, former accountant Lakshmi Devi, Senior Superintendent V. Kaladharan and former accountant N. Gopakumar are accused in the case.

The petitioner said that the Kalamandalam authorities failed to utilise the funds allotted by the government.

He also alleged that the authorities failed to take action even after financial irregularities were found during auditing.
