The Mavelikara police have begun a probe into the destruction of District Congress Committee vice- president Koshi M. Koshi’s car at his house in Thazhakara near Mavelikara by unidentified men on Thursday night.
The police said that the attack could have taken place after 10 p.m.
The rear side of the car parked in the garage was found shattered. A case was registered on Friday following a complaint. A scientific investigation team examined the spot and a dog squad conducted a search. Nobody has been arrested.
On Thursday, Mr. Koshi had moved a resolution in the District Congress Committee (DCC) meeting condemning the tirades by SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Nadesan and NSS general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair against the Chief Minister and the KPCC president.
The resolution said the party would react strongly if the criticisms did not stop. Following the passing of resolution, SNDP outfits staged protest marches in various places in the district on Thursday.
Meanwhile, following the attack on Mr. Koshi’s car, the Kerala Students’ Union and Youth Congress activists staged a march on Friday.
Mr. Nair and Mr. Natesan were burned in effigy by the activists at the Alapppuzha town as part of protest march.
