KOZHIKODE: A dharna will be held in front of the secretariat in the capital on Wednesday under the aegis of the Kerala Private (Aided) School Managers Association.

K. Gokulan, State secretary of the association, said here on Monday that the protest was being held to highlight the various demands of private aided school managers such as withdrawal of the reported order to demolish school buildings in existence before the passing of Kerala Educational Rules (KER), and the ban on appointments in uneconomic schools. The teachers are demanding that the lacunae in the KER and the revised curriculum 2008 be removed forthwith.

A meeting of the Kozhikode district committee held on Monday wanted security of tenure ensured for all private aided school teachers. The meeting wanted security of employment for all aided school teachers who were appointed after July 14, 1997 along with the induction of the KER.
