LDF a frustrated lot: Kunhalikutty

The attempt on the life of Soopy Narikkatteri, former president of the Nadapuram panchayat, by Left Democratic Front (LDF) workers, is the cause of violence in Nadapuram, Indian Union Muslim League State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty has said.

Addressing mediapersons at League House here on Sunday, he said the United Democratic Front (UDF) will not cooperate with any peace attempts unless the police booked those behind the act. “The police are behaving in a partisan manner. The people involved in the violence had police protection,” Mr. Kunhalikutty said.

A large number of UDF workers were attacked during the polls. The Home Department failed to ensure free and fair polls. The LDF is practising North Indian-model politics in the State. The Front is frustrated at loosing ground even in Kannur, he said.

The tactics will not help them in the local body polls. The Assembly polls will be the last nail on LDF's coffin, Mr. Kunhalikutty said. He visited the violence-hit areas in Nadapuram.
