The Desheeya Karshaka Samajam has urged the Irrigation wing of the Water Resources Department to bring down the bed level of the reservoir to the earlier position for the safety of the structure.

In a statement here on Saturday, the Samajam said that because of the height of the bed level all shutters of the regulator could not be opened. Of the 13 shutters, now only two could be opened. This will affect the safety of reservoir especially when huge quantity of flood water is released from the Aliyar dam in Tamil Nadu.
