THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Candidates appearing for the Public Service Commission (PSC) examinations would soon get copies of their answer-sheets on remitting a prescribed fee. While replying to questions in the Assembly on Tuesday, Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan said the government was considering a proposal to give copies of the answer-sheets on demand after levying a fee from the candidates. A proposal to increase the validity of PSC rank lists was also being considered. The government would not entertain applications for long leave from professionals, including doctors and engineers.

Food and Civil Supplies Minister C. Divakaran said the Centre had not given any assurance to restore the ration rice quota that had been slashed of late. No firm assurance had also been given on providing more rice and sugar to meet the demand during the Onam season.
