The 400mm ‘primo’ cast iron pipe carrying water from Peroorkada to parts of the city developed a leakage on a collar-joint at Ambalamukku leading to disruption in water supply to areas including Kesavadasapuram, Ulloor, Pattom, and Paruthipara among others on Thursday.

Kerala Water Authority officials said repairs would be completed before Thursday midnight and that water supply would be restored to normal by Friday morning. The same pipe had burst on Thursday at one spot on the Muttada-Vayalikada road leading to disruption in supply. Repairs here were just completed when the leakage began on Thursday.
