KOCHI: The All Kerala Federation of Petroleum Traders has opposed the move of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) to set up over 400 petroleum sales outlets in the State.

The organisation, in a press statement, said the existing outlets would be adversely affected by the move.

The petrol bunks were incurring higher expenditure on account of increased wages to the employees and high power tariff, apart from loss owing to evaporation of the fuel.

The petroleum traders would have to close down their outlets if the oil companies pursued their current policies, the statement said. — Special Correspondent
