The government has issued orders giving permission for stone quarries, situated in private land and which are abiding by all existing regulations, to remain operational for another year, subject to orders that may be passed by the Supreme Court in the existing case against quarries. The new orders were issued following some technical glitches in the earlier order issued on November 23, renewing the work permit for stone quarries in the State. — Special Correspondent
