The People's Democratic Party (PDP) will intensify its protest demanding the release of its Chairman Abdul Nasir Maudani, who is now in a jail in Karnataka facing trial in the Bangalore bomb blasts.

District president V.Noushad Kodiyathur told the media here on Wednesday that party workers would stage a blockade at the Income Tax office in Kozhikode on March 14 demanding humanitarian treatment for Mr.Maudani and shifting the case to a court outside Karnataka.

Mr.Noushad said that more than 1,500 party workers would take part in the blockade, which would be held in Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram in the coming days.
