New Delhi: P.C. Thomas, MP, on Saturday moved the Supreme Court challenging the Kerala High Court verdict declaring his election from the Muvattupuzha constituency as null and void.

The High Court had on October 31, while setting aside the election of Mr. Thomas, former Union Minister of State for Law and Justice in the previous NDA Government, also declared elected his nearest rival candidate P.M. Ismail of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) from the constituency. Mr. Thomas had won the seat by a margin of 529 votes. The High Court, had suspended the operation of the order for 30 days to enable Mr. Thomas to approach the Supreme Court.
