KANNUR: The Dakshin Railway Employees’ Union (DREU) has said that group C and D employees have been disappointed by the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations. DREU Central vice-president K. Ashokan said the Fifth Pay Commission’s neglect towards the employees of this category was only enhanced by the new recommendations. The commission which had recommended a pay of Rs.5,740 for group D employees, proposed a pay of Rs.90,000 to the Cabinet Secretary and Rs.2.5 lakh and Rs.3 lakh to members and chairmen respectively of regulatory bodies such as the TRAI. — Staff Reporter
