The Health Department has reached an agreement with the National Institute of Virology on studying the dengue viruses seen in Kerala and the possibility of their genetic mutation, Health Minister V.S. Sivakumar has said. A press note said a Rs. 40-crore project would be conducted at the Alappuzha sub-centre of the institute on the subject. The Minister had earlier held discussions with a Central team that had reached the State to study the outbreak of dengue in different parts of Kerala.
