KANNUR: A two-day residential orientation programme for teachers on `population and development education' will be organised here on March 7 and 8 by the Population Education Resource Centre (PERC) established by Kannur University with financial support of the University Grants Commission.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Tuesday, Pro Vice-Chancellor K. Kunhikrishnan said that the objective of the orientation programme was to prepare the teachers for equipping students to reasonably deal with contemporary social, psychological, health and economic problems.

He said that the programme would be inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor P. Chandramohan on the Sreepuram School campus here on March 7.
