The Kerala High Court on Tuesday stayed the Central government order lowering the qualifying examination mark for postgraduate medical admission. The court also ordered that the final admission would be subject to the final outcome on the writ challenging allotment.

Justice Chithambaresh passed the order on a petition filed by Satheesh Kumar of Ettumanoor. The admission to service quota in medical PG was based on seniority. The petitioner said that qualified candidates would be denied admission due to the lowering of the qualifying marks.

The medical PG online admission proceedings were completed on May 30. The Centre issued the order on May 31. The petitioner sought a direction to the National Board of Examination to complete the admission proceedings, ignoring the Centre’s order.
