Pazhassi Raja NSS College at Mattannur here will hold a two-day national seminar on emerging trends in optoelectronics and solar energy nanomaterials in collaboration with the National Institute of Technology-Kozhikode from September 23.

The topic of the seminar, being organised with sponsorship of the University Grants Commission (UGC), was related to the growing needs of energy resources, college Principal P. Muraleedharan and organising committee convener T.L. Ramadevi said at a press conference here on Wednesday.

As fossil fuels were depleting fast, harnessing solar energy was the only alternative, they said, adding that development of advanced solar energy nanomaterials and related optoelectronic nanomaterials were significant in this context.

The seminar would provide a platform to unite researchers, teachers and students to share their views on the emerging trends in optoelectronics and solar nanomaterials, they said.
