The Socialist Janata Democratic (SJD) will not deviate from its principled stand regardless of whichever front the party belongs to, State unit president of the party M.P. Veerendrakumar has said.

Speaking to reporters after the conclusion of the State conference of the party here on Saturday, he said the party was against the nuclear policy of the Central government and also condemned the double standards of the Community Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] regarding the Kudankulam nuclear power plant, even though it had withdrawn support to the UPA some years ago on a similar issue. He said the SJD would deal with all social problems from the public view point. The party was against FDI in retail sector, hike in petrol, diesel, and LPG prices, genetically-modified seeds, and all other anti-people policies of the Central government.

He condemned the CPI(M) for the murder politics and its intolerance towards anyone who expressed an opinion different from that of the party.
