Kozhikode: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty has said the State budget for 2010-11 is ‘devoid of creative proposals' to make a positive difference in the lives of ordinary people.

“The last budget promised to bring in private investment to the tune of Rs.20,000 crore, but the government failed to create a conduce environment and could bring in no investment. This time, the Finance Minister has hiked his private investment expectation to Rs. one lakh crore. The people cannot be fooled anymore,” Mr. Kunhalikutty, a former Industries Minister, said. The SmartCity project was lost for the State forever. He said the recommendations of the Rajindar Sachar Committee had been rebuffed by the State government and nothing had been done to improve the lot of minorities.
