PALAKKAD: The project director of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has appealed to the building owners on the land acquired by the Authority for the expansion of the National Highway 47 from Mangalam Dam Bridge to Vaniyampara in Kannampara I and II villages and Vadakkancherry I village to remove the buildings and structures from the land to take up the road work.

He said the NHAI had already paid compensation for the land and buildings acquired for the road project. The owners could demolish their structures their own and take possession of the materials. The NHAI would not be responsible for any damage caused to the remaining structures when it demolished the structures, the project director said in a release here on Monday.
