Thrissur: A newborn baby boy was found in ‘Ammathottil’, a cradle for abandoned children, at the District Hospital on Tuesday.
Hospital staff found the baby, a day old and weighing 2 kg, around 10.45 a.m.
It was the first time a baby was found in the cradle after it was installed in the hospital.
Kerala State Child Welfare Council district secretary P. V. Sreedharan said the baby boy was healthy. The baby would be taken on Wednesday to a child care centre run by the Council in Thiruvananthapuram.
