ViCTERS channel will launch weekly programme on Thursday
IT@School ViCTERS channel will launch a weekly half-an-hour programme on Information Technology titled ‘IT for All' at the inaugural function of the State School IT Fest 2011 on January 13. Hosted by noted IT columnist, analyst and commentator Anand Parthasarathy, the show will try to demystify IT and highlight the latest trends in IT. It will be aired at 8.35 p.m. every Thursday with a repeat telecast at 12.05 p.m. on Fridays and 8.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sundays.
The programme can also be watched live on www.victers.itschool.gov.in, a statement released here said.
A website exclusively for the show would also be set up shortly, where all episodes of the programme will be archived for offline viewing, together with additional educational material on theme subjects discussed in the show, the statement added.
“ ‘IT for All,' made in English, will enable students globally to get an idea of the new trends in IT,” said IT@School Project and ViCTERS educational channel executive director K. Anvar Sadath.
Mr. Parthasarathy said he hoped that the programme would enable viewers harness technologies and tools that might improve quality of life. “So much of the cutting-edge innovation in IT comes from Indians with leading global companies and institutions. And I have been privileged to help tell the, often untold, stories of India's contribution in the field of computers and communication,” he said.Initial episodes of the programme will address topics like Cloud Computing, Touch computing and Tablet PCs, harnessing social networks for pleasure and profit and digital publishing and e-books, the statement added.
