Railways have made arrangements for passengers to remit the difference in fare on tickets booked in advance from Tuesday, the day on which the new train fares will come into effect.

Additional counters will be opened at Passenger Reservation Centres and at Information Centres in all major railway stations in the State for collection of the fare difference, Railways said.

In other railway stations, the passengers can pay the fare difference at the booking counters before the start of the journey.

The passengers can also pay the difference on the trains they board.

Railways have requested the passengers to make use of the facility and pay the fare difference at the railway station in advance to avoid inconvenience and last-minute rush on the day of journey.

The passengers have also been requested to carry sufficient cash in lower denominations and cooperate with Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs) and Railways for speedy service.
