A new BPL Survey will be conducted to correct the discrepancies in the recently published list, the Poverty Alleviation Unit under the Department of Local Self Government, has informed the District Development Committee meeting held on Saturday.

According to a statement, complainants can submit corrections in the existing BPL list at their respective local self government bodies till June 5. A new survey will be held to correct the errors.

Meanwhile, District Collector Mini Antony directed the departments concerned to list the programmes, which could be included in the Hundred Day Campaign proposed by the UDF government.

Top on the agenda would be the distribution of title deeds for eligible candidates under the Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act 2006 (Forest Rights Act-2006).

The Department of Public works and the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) authorities have been asked to complete the pre-monsoon works at the earliest.

The meeting also decided to ask the State government to take necessary steps to fill the vacancies of doctors in the Department of Health.

The meeting also called for a report from PWD for development of the Old Main Central Road at Ettumanur so that the traffic congestion in the town through the MC Road could be minimised.

Corrections can be submitted at respective local bodies till June 5.
