KOZHIKODE: The newly-built block of the Love Shore school for the differently abled at Pannicode, Kodiyathur here will be inaugurated by managing director and chief executive officer of the NMC group, United Arab Emirates, B.R.Shetty at a programme to be held on January 17.

Education Minister E.T. Mohammed Basheer and a number of dignitaries from all walks of life will participate in the programme.

Among those who will be present at the programme are Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, M.P.Veerendra Kumar, P.V.Abdul Wahab and Pannian Ravindran, MPs and C. Moyinkutty and U.C.Raman, MLAs.

There are more than 150 students studying in the school which is engaged in rehabilitation of the differently abled, and those with other disabilities.

Mr.Shetty, who is from Mangalore, had visited Pannicode in 2003 to see for himself the pitiable plight of the village and the differently abled persons there.

He had announced the adoption of the village and laid the foundation stone of the building for the special school on the border of Kozhikode and Malappuram districts.

Dr.Shetty also became the chief patron of the school, and extended all possible financial assistance for the project.
