THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Local Self-Government Minister Paloli Mohammed Kutty has said that the revised list of Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in the State will be ready by next month.

Replying to a submission by K.K. Shylaja (CPI-M) in the Assembly on Thursday, Mr. Mohammed Kutty said the list was being prepared after a survey of 86.23 lakh households in the State. The list was being prepared after including eligible families and excluding all ineligible families. The data entry was in progress and the list should be ready for publication next month, he said. Public Works Minister P.J. Joseph told M.A. Wahid (Congress) that the government would convene meetings of all concerned to avert disputes over acquisition of land for road development.

Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told T.N. Prathapan (Congress) that a special mechanism would be created to provide timely information to the media about investigation into major crimes.
