KOLLAM: The district committee of the National Trust for the welfare of persons with autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation and multiple disabilities has invited applications for availing benefits under the Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme.

The National Trust is a wing of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

The chairman of the National Trust district committee is the district collector. Convener of the district committee R. Venugopalan said that children with 40 per cent plus disabilities mentioned could apply for the scheme through their parents.

Free treatment

Those becoming members of the scheme will be entitled to free medical treatment benefits.
