A seven-day National Integration Camp and Interstate Folk Dance Festival being organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra will be inaugurated by M.B. Rajesh, MP, at Dhoni, near here, on Monday.

Over 200 youngsters from different States will take part in the national integration camp. The programme is being organised with the aim of promoting national integration, unity, and cultural diversity of the nation. Shafi Parambil, MLA, will preside over the function.

The folk dance fete will be inaugurated by K. Achuthan, MLA, at Rappadi Open Air Auditorium on Tuesday. T.N. Khandamuthan, president, district panchayat, will preside over the function. District Collector K.V. Mohankumar will deliver a message on national integration. Municipal chairman Abdul Khudhoos and District Superintendent of Police M.P. Dinesh will be the guests of honour.

Union Minister of State for Food and Consumer Affairs K.V. Thomas will inaugurate the valedictory of the programme at the District Panchayat Hall on Friday.

Programmes including seminars, debates, community singing, interaction with local youth leaders and volunteers, visit to historically and culturally important places, recreational activities, and so on will be arranged as part of the national integration camp, K. Kunhammed, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, said.
