Kasaragod: The Mogral Mappilapattu Aswadaka Sanghom here is planning a music therapy to sooth the minds of people agitated by political and religious issues. But, unlike the traditional therapy where the needy go to therapists, here the therapists would reach out to the affected.

Exponents of Mappilapattu from Kannur and Kasaragod would hold a brotherhood rally, named Ishal Yatra, from Kanhangad to Manjeswaram to spread the message of brotherhood and love among the people, said Haji T.M. Kunhi, chairman of central reception committee.

He said Ishals or Moplah songs were not the wealth of Muslims only but belonged to the whole society.

Writer T. Padmanabhan would inaugurate a public meeting being organised in connection with the Yatra at K.M. Ahmed Pallikkara Nagar in Kanhangad on April 6 evening. Former Minister M.K. Muneer would inaugurate the music programme at the venue. Samyuktha Jamath president Metro Muhammad Haji and Swami Mukthananda would jointly flag off the Yatra on April 7 morning. It would conclude at Chemmanad at night on the day.

Parthi Subba Yaksha Gana Kalakendra chairman Sankar Rai Master would inaugurate the Yatra at Perla on April 8 at 10 a.m. It would end at Kasaragod on the day at 8 p.m. The Yatra would begin from Manjeswaram on April 9 at 10 a.m.

It would end at Mogral at 8 p.m. on the day. T.K. Hamsa, MP, would inaugurate the valedictory meeting.
