Science and technology museum coming up at Ramavarmapuram
Thrissur: Revenue Minister K.P. Rajendran on Monday said that the proposed science and technology museum at Ramavarmapuram in Thrissur should be named after the former Chief Minister C. Achutha Menon.
Addressing a remembrance meeting organised by the Appan Thampuran Smaraka Vayanasala on the occasion of the 15th death anniversary of the former Chief Minister, Mr. Rajendran said there was no proper memorial for Achutha Menon in Thrissur.
A good administrator
"Achutha Menon was one of the best administrators Kerala has ever seen. He loved Thrissur and was actively involved in local issues. He needs a proper memorial in Thrissur. Of the series of development projects to be implemented at the Kerala Sahitya Akademi at a cost of Rs.1 crore, one could also be named after him," Mr. Rajendran said.
He said a biography of Achutha Menon was being brought out by the State Institute of Languages this month.
K.K. Rahulan, former president of the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam, presided over the function.
